About Konbinii
Japan's convenience store glow, shrunk to fridge size
Konbinii makes miniature illuminated versions of the objects that make a Japanese street feel like a Japanese street. We started with the konbini sign, because it is the one everybody remembers.
What is a konbini?
A Japanese convenience store. The word is "convenience", shortened the way Japanese shortens things. There are tens of thousands of them across the country, and their backlit storefront signs are the most reliable landmark in Japan — the thing still glowing at 2am when everything else has closed.
If you have been to Japan, you already know the feeling. That feeling is the whole product.
What we make
- Konbini Lightbox Magnets — 10 cm storefront signs in FamilyMart, 7-Eleven and Lawson designs. Rechargeable over USB-C, three colours and three ambiance modes.
- Japan Lightbox Magnets — the same format in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto city signs.
- Mini Konbini Lightbox Magnets — 5.5 cm, sized for a laptop, a locker or a shelf edge. Runs on a replaceable LR41 button cell, included.
- 711 Magnets Combo — a convenience store freezer that opens, with 30 miniature Japanese snacks and mini ice cubes to arrange inside.
How we work
- Every specification published in full. Size, battery, runtime, materials, what is in the box. If something is not on the page, ask us and we will add it.
- Worldwide shipping, 5 to 15 business days, free on orders over $35.
- One accountable company behind the product. When something goes wrong, you are dealing with us.
- Independent, not licensed. We are not affiliated with, licensed by or endorsed by 7-Eleven, Lawson, FamilyMart or any other retailer. We say so on every product page rather than hoping nobody asks. The full answer is here.
Where to start
The 3-pack. A single lit sign on a fridge door is a nice object. Three of them in a row is a street — which is the thing you were actually remembering.
